![]() Since I set up a feeding station out behind our house, Eastie & Westie spend a lot of time "looking" out the window watching the rabbits, birds and chipmunks. Joy-Vernon |
![]() Eastie's "babies" (or her hormones) have allowed her to feel she has raised another litter. Until the other night, she would pick these "babies" up and move them to where they could nurse when she was sleeping. The good news is we have found a westie "couple" & have arranged for a play-date including Eastie's neutered soul mate, Westie. If they hit it off, we will go back when Eastie goes into heat again and hopefully they can play & screw around, so Eastie will have real "babies". Joy-Vernon |
![]() Eastie has been experiencing a second faux litter. She is most content and relaxed when she is on our bed with her "babies". She found her favorite "baby", the pea-green dragon from her first litter and added it to this litter. It is still her favorite! January 2010 Joy-Vernon |

![]() Chef Ted Christensen at The Molly Butlers Lodge in Greer, New Years Eve. The "spread" of food put out for the New Year's Eve celebration was awesome. Chef Ted has only been with the Lodge in Greer for 4 months. He was a chef at the Space Needle in Seattle for five years. Joy-Vernon |
![]() What a feast that was offered by Molly Butlers in Greer to celebrate the New Year 2010. This ice boat was carved by the chefs. Joy-Vernon |
![]() Last week we had a flock of Goldfinch feeding from our thistle feeders. We have House Finches and Lesser Finches year round, but not Goldfinch. Joy-Vernon |

![]() The male Gold Finch is a vibrant yellow in the summer and an olive color during the winter months, while the female is a dull yellow-brown shade which brightens only slightly during the summer. The male displays brightly. The small flock this week at our home were migrating apparently. Joy-Vernon |
