Close up photo of La Ventana natural arch. The Cebolla Wilderness offers 60,000 acres of outstanding opportunities for solitude & primitive recreation. 7-28-10 Joy-Vernon

Potty-stop on Hwy. 117 Over 140 million years ago, portions of this area resembled the Sahara Desert of today...Dinosaurs came to drink from the deep pools of clear water that were probably scattered throughout the area. Joy-Vernon

We returned to The White Mountains from a quick trip to Albuquerque...Thurs. July 29th on Hwy. 117. This was a potty stop for the dogs, and a photo opt for me. I usually take photos from the car going 65 MPH. It was fun for me to take photos of the prairie. This photo is looking East. We were still in New Mexico. Joy-Vernon

This is probably my favorite photo I took after walking across the road (Hwy. 117 in N.M.)... A single Sunflower in a "Sea of Prairie". Joy-Vernon

When Rick saw this photo, he said it is his favorite of the ones I took on the Hwy. 117 quick stop. He doesn't SEE what I see until he looks at my photos. There is a windmill on the right in the background. Joy-Vernon

Simple beauty...Hwy. 117 (N.M.) about an hour and a half from the Arizona boarder. Joy-Vernon

Sunrise from our porch, July 30, 2010 ... One hummer! Joy-Vernon

The sun is shining through her tail feathers. Joy-Vernon

Four hummers in the Hummingbird Tree on our porch. Many others were in a feeding frenzy at the five or 6 feeders hanging on our porch. And the monsoon thunder storm came! We did get some rain from those clouds. July 30, 2010 Joy-Vernon
