Darsie is 12 days old today, June 22, 2010. Eastie is a wonderful mother to her. All Darsie does is nurse & sleep with her litter mates. Here she is with Mother Goose & a bunny. The squirrel is on the right along with Eastie, Darsie's mother. Joy-Vernon

Darsie was two weeks old yesterday June 24th)...She opened her eyes for the first time. We made a round-trip to Albuquerque & back. This photo was taken just before we left Albuquerque to return to the White Mountains. Joy-Vernon

On the way back to the White Mountains yesterday, I couldn't resist taking photos from the car window as we are speeding by, while I am in the passenger seat! The trip is always beautiful. This is on the Acoma Pueblo Reservation on Hwy. 117 N.M. Joy-Vernon

We were approaching Quemado, N.M. and Hwy. 60 when I took this photo of what I call, "Magic Light". Joy-Vernon

This large elk started to cross 117 in front of us yesterday. We had to stop when she stopped in front of the car. I had two week old Darsie and Eastie in my lap. By the time I was able to take a photo the elk was standing, just looking at us. It was such a huge flat area that we were surprised to see elk in summer. Joy-Vernon
