 We drove to Safford, Arizona September 28, 2009 on the 127 mile paved Hwy. 191 from Springerville to Clifton. The Hwy. twists and switchbacks over country that has changed little since 1540 when conquistador Coronado and his men traveled these mountains. We drove 430 miles returning home via Globe and Salt River Canyon the same day/night. Joy-Vernon |
