DuckIf seeing an osprey hover over a clear mountain lake or hearing a mountain chickadee's cheer song is your idea of a great outdoor experience, then this bird list is for you. The wide variety of birds found in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest can provide you many memorable moments.

Bird watching is a good way to enjoy your National Forest lands and the knowledge and appreciation that can come from this activity will help you realize what a treasure these lands are. Please respect the land and the wild things which depend on it. This list is the product of a partnership between the USDA Forest Service and the White Mountain Chapter of the National Audubon Society.

The White Mountain Chapter of Northern Arizona Audubon Society was formed in August 1987 as a result of increased local interest in wildlife.

The group meets at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month at the Navopache Electric Co-Op Crew Room in Lakeside. The meetings and field trips are open to anyone who wishes to attend.

Correspondence may be sent to White Mountain Audubon Society at P.O. Box 3043, Pinetop, Arizona 85935
