Regional Development Corporation

WMRDC was established by four White Mountain region communities (Show Low, Taylor, Snowflake, and Pinetop-Lakeside) in 1989 as a regional non-profit organization to promote economic development in the White Mountain region. Community leaders of these four progressive entities, along with private business members, county, state, and federal economic development agencies have combined their efforts in WMRDC.

This organization has been considered a model for regional economic development in rural Arizona. The efforts of WMRDC have already proven positive by assisting with the growth of over 300 new jobs in the White Mountain region.

WMRDC's Objectives

The organization has two major objectives. The first is to assist the existing business community in this region to grow and diversify. The second is to encourage companies who are considering a new location to establish operations in the White Mountain region of Arizona. To meet these objectives, WMRDC provides the technical services and confidential site selection.

• Assisting with location of available commercial / industrial sites and facilities for new or expanding businesses.
• Serving as a referral source for start-up or established companies requiring technical assistance.
• Identifying public and private financing sources to assist companies in establishing operations.
• Counseling companies on business licensing and registration requirements.
• Identifying county and state programs applicable for training program assistance.
• Assisting companies to fulfill planning and permitting requirements by arranging meetings with local, county, and state governmental agencies.
