Sunset at Magdalena, New Mexico today... April 15, 2010 Joy-Vernon

We checked out Quemado Lake in Southwestern New Mexico yesterday (5-14-10). This formation caught my eye, so as I often do, I took this photo from our moving car. Rick is not interested in stopping every time I see something I want to photo, so this works well with some things I want to photograph. lol Joy-Vernon

We saw more antelope yesterday, 4-15-10, than on any of our many trips back & forth to Albuquerque and the White Mountains of Az. We saw hundreds...at least 8-10 different large herds. The antelope in this photo were running parallel to our car on Hwy. 60 in the Great Array area, just east of Datil, N.M. I took several videos of them running 50 MPH along side of us. Joy-Vernon

We drove 100 miles or so out of our way to Albuquerque on Thurs. We drove down to Apache Creek, N.M. about ten miles from Reserve. These mailboxes were in front of the General Store...this is the Last Great Frontier! Joy-Vernon

The clouds hanging over Sandia Mountain (Albuquerque) are beautiful. It is "Big Sky" here as it is in the White Mountains (or Vernon area). This was taken April 16, 2010 from our moving car. Joy-Vernon

Like a kid, I had to go look at the buffalo on Sandia Indian reservation at the north end of Albuquerque on our way to eat dinner at a restaurant. They were all lying down. April 16, 2001 Joy-Vernon

The Sandia Indian Resort ahead. The Sandia Casino is to the right of the hotel. 5-16-10 Joy-Vernon

"A rider at peace with his horse"
Local horseshoer Wyatt Adams aboard, Jessa Dun Bar, a 6 year old Quarter Horse gelding owned by Carissa Nickols. This gelding was sadly dropped off at the auction barn last year, where I happened to come across him. He had apparently been beaten and abused and was terrified of anyone human. He had dental problems and needed proper horseshoeing. After being trained by professional trainer and stunt rider Brian Bausch of Cave Creek he has become the most loyal loving horse that I have ever owned. I plan to ride him later this year as his makes his debut in the show pen as a reining horse.

4 Wheeling in Taylor on Saturday...oops.
