The mountain in the forefront of this photo is Mt. Taylor (clouds behind it). It is nearly 100 miles away (N.E. of Grants, N.M.) from where I took this photo in the foothills of Sandia Mt. in Albuquerque. It was named in 1849 for then president Zachary Taylor. Mt. Taylor is 11,305 ft. Joy- Vernon	Looking down at the city of Albuquerque from the North East Heights. (8-21-10) Joy-Vernon	This bolder is across the street from a house in the N.E. Heights/foothills of Sandia Mountain. I have loved to drive up and see the house with this rock across the street from it since 1977. Joy-Vernon
I stayed home yesterday and had the opportunity to take photos of our White-Winged Doves that are all over our Albuquerque neighborhood. One on the left if the dish has a pretty motley looking head. Shortly after our arrival back to the White Mountains...such peace and tranquility! This is looking East off our porch this evening, August 24, 2010. There were about a hundred hummingbirds buzzing around at the feeders on the porch, but only one in their tree when I took this photo.
