I drove to Albuquerque today without ever turning the car engine off. But, since I was driving, when we saw the third large herd of antelope in the Very Great Array area on Hwy. 60, I pulled over and took photos. August 20, 2010 Joy-Vernon

There seemed to be around 100 antelope in this herd...the third herd we had seen on this south side of Hwy. 60 when I pulled over to take these photos from the driver's seat of our car. Joy-Vernon

The trip back & forth from the White Mountains to Albuq. is always a beautiful trip no matter which route we take, but today, (8-19-10) it was even more so...gorgeous sky, light, wild flowers, as always, but it was the greenest we have ever seen it...due to our monsoon this year. Joy-Vernon

Just took this photo in our back yard in Albuquerque, which is filled with Sunflowers & Hollyhocks. 8-20-10 Joy-Vernon

We drove up into the foothills of Sandia Mountain (Albuquerque) on Saturday (8-21-1) Joy-Vernon

The Sandia Mountains Tiwa Puelbo name is posu gai hoo-oo, "where water slides down arroyo" are a mountain range located immediately to the east of the city of Albuquerque. We have a second home in the N.E. Heights a couple of miles from the mountain, although we prefer living in serenity of the White Mountains. 8-21-10 Joy-Vernon
