Just one Bushtit a couple of weeks ago when it snowed. Joy-Vernon

Bushtits in on the front porch. They are tiny and have longer tails that distinguish them from other Chickadee-like species. They usually feed in large, busy, twittering flocks. Joy-Vernon

The simplicity of this single female finch is dear. It has one thistle seed on the tip of its beak. Joy-Vernon

We had a lovely snow cover today, December 22, 2009. Here are Eastie & Westie watching Peter Cottontail (and a Junco). They watch the birds and Chipper (the chipmunk) from this window all day long... It is just like television to them. Joy-Vernon

Peter is not afraid of Eastie & Westie anymore. He/she seems to have figured out that they can't get outside in that area. But, the flash on my camera caused this "alert status". Joy-Vernon
