 That is Eastie on the right with the pink ears. It is almost midnight, but Eastie & Westie are excited about the snowfall. They were happy to have their water proof coats put on. Joy-Vernon |

 White-breasted Nuthatch--although the bird book states these nuthatches are year round residents of our area, we have not seen them until this year. Note the extra-long hind toe claw or nail. It is nearly twice the size of the front toe claws. The White-breasted Nuthatch has incredible climbing agility due to this claw. I took this photo today, October 28, 2009. Joy-Vernon |
