![]() It is Anacapa rock seen through Anacapa Arch. The island 14 miles off the coast of Oxnard and about 1000 meters off the south east tip of Anacapa Island. Anacapa is one of the 8 California Channel Islands, Catalina Island being the most famous. Anacapa was first drawn in 1854 for the U.S. Coastal Survey by James McNeill Whistler. After failing for 3 years at West Point he got a job with the Survey sketching up and down the west coast. His most famous work of course is Whistlers Mother. Jay Aronow . |

![]() Jack, Heres one we took in June at the bait shop at Big Lake. It was our first trip to the Gorgeous White Mountains. We had done a lot of AZ camping when we lived California and thought we knew the state. The White Mountains were a wonderful surprise for us. We never were aware the Arizona had an alpine mountain. Jack I threw in a cliché sunset I took from my back yard in Tucson. I say cliché because beautiful Arizona sunsets are a pretty regular occurrence. Jay Aronow |
