It really was the brighest in the sky in between clouds, very late Sunday night August 24th. I also have a picture of it in October 2005 next to the moon. Note: If you would like to see that one in Oct of 2005, e-mail me & I will send it to you. Lucinda	Anacapa rock seen through Anacapa Arch. The island 14 miles off the coast of Oxnard and about 1000 meters off the south east tip of Anacapa Island. Anacapa is one of the 8 California Channel Islands, Catalina Island being the most famous. Anacapa was first drawn in 1854 for the U.S. Coastal Survey by James McNeill Whistler. His most famous work of course is Whistler’s Mother.
